Our Goal
Our goal is to close the achievement gap between the academic and professional spheres by providing a curriculum beyond textbooks and equipping the next generation with the skills they need to succeed in a technologically advanced environment.
Learning
We think that learning comes from daily experience and that progress is continuous. We systematically search for opportunities to upgrade our knowledge. We view learning as more than merely communicating theoretical information; it's also about changing behavior. We establish a setting that encourages education.
Walk The Talk
We set an example for the conduct we anticipate from others. About our values and views, we are unambiguous. We understand that everything we do needs to serve as an example for others. Our actions carry greater significance than our words. For the team and the kids, everyone in a leadership capacity will serve as an example.
Entrepreneurship
We're going to encourage an entrepreneurial mindset. We are going to work on developing our team-building and leadership skills. We will encourage sound judgment, inventiveness, and invention in the face of ambiguity and uncertainty. We'll discover how to exercise initiative and take calculated risks in a certain corporate environment.
Relevance
Our curriculum will not only be current but forward-looking. Learning in the institute will relate to the ‘Real World’ of hospitality. Our students will be familiar with the latest industry practices. Our group work and projects will be relevant to the current Management styles.
International Perspective
The international curriculum at Seacom is designed to motivate students to learn holistically through research, field trips, surveys, and real-time practice in an attached hotel and develop international perspectives through the sharing of ideas with international guest lecturers.
Industry-Based Curriculum
At all levels of study, extreme care is taken to ensure that all the students get enough opportunities to be able to satisfy themselves. The students are engaged in international case studies, essay writing, and presentation skills with emphasis on citation, referencing, and bibliography.
Real-time Practice
In the first two levels of the course, the student is regularly exposed to the practices and problems within the hospitality industry through work in the kitchen, the training restaurant, and the Front Office Studio and assumes responsibility for managing the operations.
